history; Mizuki Hajime, youngest of three siblings, born May 27 in Yamagata, 17 years old, and very normal. In the beginning, of course. He grew up normally. You couldn't even tell that anything was wrong, he was just... very picky with his things. He wouldn't touch anything that had been on the floor for too long, or would demand to change spoons, forks, chopsticks or even plates and have them thoroughly cleaned before eating. Everyone just thought he was a stuck-up princeling. Hajime didn't even realize that he was being choosy-- all he knew was he didn't want anything that had already been used, or was touched by very dirty hands, or play with toys that had been dropped in the mud and poorly cleaned.

Once, when Hajime was 8, he walked in his parents' room barefoot. He couldn't tell what happened next, just that he was all of a sudden redfaced and running into his room to hide. He wasn't able to speak to his parents directly for months. And then it started happening more frequently, dropping things as he got flashes of where it had been, sometimes refusing to even enter a room because he would know what had happened inside and felt absolutely disgusted.

Hajime knew there was something wrong, he just couldn't-- didn't want to believe it was him. So he took it upon himself (he'd become pretty independent by then) to study what the problem was, what was causing it, how he could make it stop. Hajime began reading books, looking for books, collecting books about psychic powers, the metaphysical, eventually books on mutations and mutants, all sorts of books that would-- hopefully-- help him figure things out. By then, he had started wearing gloves at the discovery that he is not able to sense anything from an object if he was wearing them (wintertime, age 9, during a particularly cold November). His parents had looked at him curiously for wearing gloves all the time, but he did have an excuse (the same reason why he didn't spend too much time in the sun--he was photosensitive).

Everything just started going smoothly then. No one suspected a thing, and Hajime lived normally, keeping his abilities secret. Until he started High School.

Hajime never quite got along with the rest of the student population. And although this was the case, he still believed he was safe, that no one knew of his abilities. He'd kept them secret for all these years, after all. But his high school was located in a different part of Yamagata, a long way to commute from his town. Bigger, more populated cities were different than small towns, and the people were more cruel.

They were anti-mutant, most of them. And a lot of them were paranoid, pointing fingers at the slightest oddity they find. At first, no one found the gloves on Mizuki's hands an oddity. It was normal, he had explained. He had a skin condition, and needed to keep his body away from the sun. By the time he reached his second year, rumors started spreading. He would hear his name in whispers at the library, would catch people staring at him, pointing at him.

He took his gloves off once. That was all it took, really. The sink at the second floor boy's room was the first thing he'd touched, and he hated what he saw. Third years and second years, kids from the city. Beating someone up-- boy, girl, he couldn't tell--probably a boy? He could hear the poor thing cry, could hear the bastards call him a monster, he didn't deserve to live, he should die.

Horrified by this discovery, Mizuki left school early that day, going straight home. Some people might have already discovered-- but how? He's never taken his gloves off before, and he'd been very careful not to. Telling his mother he had a very bad stomach ache, Hajime stayed in his room for the rest of the day, carefully planning out what he should do to avoid discovery--if no one has yet-- and disappear completely. He needed help, however, and he trusted only a few people-- in this case, it was his elder sister. He understood how middle siblings worked, and he knew she wanted to somehow be important, so he entrusted her with his secrets, knowing that the importance of keeping it secret would make her feel important and therefore would not divulge the information-- manipulating her to get what he wants. With her help and careful planning, Hajime was able to move to a decent apartment in Tokyo, gotten himsef an extension credit card from his sister's account-- with his sister's permission, of course-- as well as transfer to a new high school. All of these were kept secret from his parents.

Hajime was now able to live peacefully--normally-- keeping correspondence with his sister, who, despite the distance, he found he has grown closer to. She has told their parents that he had run away to the north, chasing after a girl he liked. He had written to his sister that, despite how uncharacteristic it was for him to run away after a girl, he was thankful that their parents believed such a story and left it at that.

It was only later that he discovered Ryuhana and has since been determined to transfer there. Which he did.

powers; Post-cognition. Mizuki is able to tell what happened to a certain object when he comes into contact with it. At first, he would only feel the emotions surrounding the object, getting a vague knowledge on the 'scenario' (would always happen with weaker signals on an object) and then get sucked into the 'scenario'(stronger signals), leaving him in a half-dream state.

This power is very effective with solid inanimate objects, yet not all the time effective on inanimate organic objects(like food, plants, etc.). Depending on the emotions surrounding the object and the object itself, Mizuki will be able to tell accurate details on what happened to it, where it was, the time it was there, etc. The stronger the emotions around the object, the better clarity of the details, the weaker, the more vague. Also, a very strong emotion (grief and anger or extreme joy, usually) may cause his powers to trigger automatically, the visions to 'overflow' and Mizuki would lose consciousness. Hajime's hands, especially the tips of his fingers, are the most sensitive to his powers and the most susceptible to trigger it.

Objects or things that are in contact with Mizuki for long periods of time, such as his clothes and his gloves, will not trigger his powers unless he wants it to. This is because he has formed a sort of familiarity with these things and is not affected by them anymore.

There are limitations to this power, however. Mizuki cannot determine a human's past by touching him. Or any being that can think for itself. This includes animals. It is possible, however, that Mizuki may be able to learn how to read/view someone's past, though he would rather not.

Over time, Mizuki will be able to use his powers at will, determining when and on which specific object he wants to use them on. He would not need gloves in this case. Along with the control on when to use his powers, Hajime will also have control over how much of the past he would be able to see/know, or which specific point in the past he needs/wants to see, and how much detail he could see.
